M. Schlessinger, 91|
Lorraine M. Schlessinger, nee Binder, of West Bend, formerly of Jackson, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Manor Care in Fond du Lac at the age of 91. She was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Millador to the late John and Matilda (nee Fait) Binder.
On Nov. 29, 1941, she was united in marriage to Charles F. Schlessinger in Milwaukee. Charles predeceased March 5, 2004.
From 1961 until 1974, Lorraine worked as a manager at Spiegelís. She then was employed at area nursing homes, including the Samaritan Health Center, from 1977 until 1982. Prior to her retirement in 1993, she worked as a home health care assistant.
Survivors include one son, Charles J. (Carol) Schlessinger Sr. of Jackson; one daughter-in-law, Doreen Schlessinger of Big Bend; four grandchildren, Charles Jr. (Tracy) of Port Washington, Todd (Mindy) of Port Washington, Angie Verre of Waukesha and Terri of Indiana; seven great-grandchildren, Spencer, Dayle, Victoria, Charles III, Katie, Neil and Stephanie; one sister, Lucille (Carl) Chovan of Desert Springs, California; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Lieg of West Bend; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John; one granddaughter, Lori Stroessner; one grandson, James; one grandson-in-law, Steve Verre; one sister, Joan Morey; one sister-in-law, Delores Blankenship; and three brothers-in-law, Richard Lieg, Edwin Schlessinger and George (Joann) Schlessinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at St. Peterís Catholic Church in Slinger with the Rev. Richard Stoffel presiding. Burial will be 3 p.m. in Union Cemetery in Waubeka. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church Tuesday from 10-11:15 a.m.
