Airman Quinn Johnson-Harris died Oct. 2, 2015, when the plane he was in crashed just after takeoff.
Johnson-Harris’s body will arrive at General Mitchell International Airport on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at 11 a.m.
From there, numerous law enforcement agencies will escort him to New Pitts Mortuary.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a military funeral procession, including the American Legion’s horse and carriage, the city of Milwaukee’s Police Department and Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department. The route for the military funeral process will begin at the New Pitts Mortuary (2031 W. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee); from there the route will be from West Capitol Drive to the vacant Lowes at Midtown (5700 W. Capitol Parkway).
The American Legion will then unload the horse and carriage and the military funeral procession will continue to Mill Road Shopping Plaza (6410 N. 76th St.).
The American Legion will then reload the horse and carriage with the casket and proceed north on 76th Street, where a military flyover will take place. It will continue north on 76th Street to Good Hope Road and west on Good Hope Road, arriving at Christian Faith Fellowship (8633 W. Good Hope Road). Those wishing to participate in the “Hero’s Welcome” for Johnson-Harris are asked to line the streets with flags around 11:30 a.m., which will be provided before the military funeral procession.
The visitation will begin at 1 p.m., with the funeral starting promptly at 2 p.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship (8633 W. Good Hope Road). The interment will take place on Nov. 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
