Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Struhar, 86

The Lord took Elizabeth “Betty” Struhar peacefully in her home on Oct. 16, 2015. She was 86 years old.

She was the loving wife of Robert Struhar, who preceded her in death.

Betty was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her three children, Bill Struhar of Pearson, Susie Morter (Guy) of Cedarburg and Sheere Pollitt (Don Guth) of Grand Marsh; her seven grandchildren, Rick Struhar (Jessica), Molly Currey, Andy Morter (Darcy), Reese Morter, Casey Guth (Nicole), Collin Guth and Kailee Guth; eight great-grandchildren, Nate, Samantha, Susie, Charlie, Tucker, Maggie, Kegan and Kameron; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was a pillar of strength. She took care of us all. Despite her aging body, she never slowed down and now she can finally rest and enjoy the heavenly peace she so graciously sought.

Betty taught us all the importance of family, true love and living your best life. Her infectious laughter and inquisitive nature made her the life of every party. She always had something witty to say – good, bad or ugly – she told it like it was.

Betty enjoyed family gatherings, gambling, watching movies and her computer. She loved flashy clothes and warm electric blankets. She missed her husband Bob every day and lived for her dogs that kept her company throughout the years.

Whether you called her Betty, Nanie, Big Nanie, MaMa, Boobalina or Bam – she had a place in her heart for all of us. We were all worried about and we were all prayed for.

And now we will all carry her love with us wherever we go.

Visitation for Betty will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 24, 2015, at Lumen Christi Thiensville, 116 N. Orchard St., with mass to follow. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon.

Schramka Funeral Home is assisting the family.
