Martha M. Fahney
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, Martha M. Fahney fell asleep in death at Port Haven Assisted Living in Port Washington. She was 89.
Martha was born Feb. 27, 1926, to Elizabeth and Peter Smith in Port Washington. She grew up on a farm near Port Washington where she met her husband, Alois Fahney. They were married Nov. 17, 1945.
Alois and Martha lived on a farm near West Bend for 11 years. They then moved to a home nearby, where she lived until her death.
Her husband, Alois (Ollie), preceded her in death July 19, 1995, at the age of 79. They would have been married for 50 years that November.
Martha is survived by three children, Rita, Allan and Richard (Louise Fleishman); two grandchildren, Rebecca Fahney and Katie Markeland (Dan); one great-grandson, Jase; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Martha is preceded in death by two children, Barbara and Pauline; one brother, Herbert Smith; and three sisters, Anna Fahney, Mable Smith and Marie Steinbach.
Martha really cherished life. She especially enjoyed seeing her great-grandson, Jase. He would bring a big smile to her face.
A memorial service for her is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (6823 Wildwood Road, West Bend). Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m.
