Alice A. Bauer, nee Youngbauer, of West Bend, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at the age of 90. She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Colgate to the late John A. and Idabelle (nee Bird) Youngbauer.
On May 25, 1946, she was united in marriage to Arvin L. Bauer in Lannon. In 1951, the family moved to the West Bend area.
For many years she worked as a clerk at the former Sentry Foods store in West Bend.
She and Arvin were charter members of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish where they were very active. She was a member of her local homemakers club, card clubs and Vagabond travelers club. She volunteered at both The Threshold and the Samaritan Health Center.
Survivors include five children, Catherine (Richard) Depies, Janet (Raymond) Werhand, Edward (Paulette), Robert (Sue) and Bonnie (Bob) Krause; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanne (Richard) Schmidt; one sister-in-law, Ruth Youngbauer; one brother-in-law, Dennis (Beverly) Bauer; a longtime friend, Donna Kahlscheuer; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by Arvin, her husband of 65 years. He died on Oct. 8, 2011. She was also preceded by one daughter, Barbara Clayton, and four brothers, John (Norma), Harry (Marge), James and Charles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with the Rev. Enrique Hernandez presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church from 9:30-11:15 a.m. Friday The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
