Kristine J. Duckert, 69
A Celebration of Life for Kristine Joy Duckert, of Cedarburg, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Peter Wollner American Legion Post, W57 N481 Hilbert Ave., Cedarburg, WI 53012.
Kristine “Kris” Joy Duckert was born in Milwaukee on March 24, 1946, to John Chmela and the Katherine (nee Manning) Chmela.
She married Peter Joseph Balistrieri in 1968 and welcomed her only child, Peter James Balistrieri, in September 1970. Kris later remarried Dale Duckert in May of 1987.
Kris was a true matriarch of our family and so very special to us. She also touched many lives outside of family as well, which created a vast network of close friends and acquaintances. She was a teacher by trade, working at Phillips School in Milwaukee and Wilson Elementary School in Mequon. Kris was an avid supporter of animal humane societies and animal rights. She loved Motown music and creating stained glass art, but spending time with her grandchildren was a top priority for her.
Kris also had an affinity for Native American heritage and culture, citing Sedona, Ariz., as one of her favorite places on Earth to visit with her husband, Dale.
Kris is survived by her husband, Dale Ernst Duckert of Cedarburg; son, Peter James Balistrieri of Brookfield; grandchildren, Dominic Balistrieri, Maddox Balistrieri, Luca Balistrieri and Isabella Balistrieri; sister, Patricia Holzbauer; and stepdaughter, Leah Duckert. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff in the ICU at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon for their compassionate care. We are very grateful to you.
