Helen Adelia (nee Gehl) Beine of Hartford passed away peacefully Nov. 9, 2015.
Helen was the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Baertlein) Gehl. She was born in St. Lawrence on Sept. 11, 1933.
Helen worked in food service at Lincoln Elementary School in Hartford.
Helen was a very caring, thoughtful, witty person who had a great sense of humor. She had an artistic flair. Her family would ask her about decorating for family events. She enjoyed word searches and playing solitaire. Her family was most important to her, and she thought a lot about her familyís wellbeing.
Helen was a devout Catholic, and loved her faith.
Helen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold; her children, Laura (Mark) Landvatter of West Bend and Karen (Jim) Lorrigan of Rubicon; grandchildren, Ben Landvatter of West Bend, Gina (Christopher) Skrzypchak of Kewaskum, Scott (Kristen) Lorrigan of Slinger, Brian (Erin) Lorrigan of Arizona, and Brad Lorrigan of Rubicon; and five great-grandchildren, Clayton, Eli and Owen Skrzypchak, and Adrianne and Alayna Lorrigan. She is also survived by her sister, Delores Guerndt of West Bend, and brother, Joseph Gehl of Hartford. Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice (Franklin) Schmitt and Marcella (Norbert) Roethle, and brother, Alfred (Beverly) Gehl. She is also survived by many other friends and family.
A special thank you to Dr. Chen and to the nursing staff at Hartford Hospital and The Kathy Hospice for the compassionate care given to Helen.
Visitation will be from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at St. Kilianís Catholic Church (264 W. State St., Hartford). A Mass of resurrection will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the church. The Rev. David LaPlante will officiate. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at St. Kilianís Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Kilian renovation fund would be appreciated.
