Joann D. Steger, 74
April 2, 1941 — Nov. 11, 2015

Joann D. Steger, nee Held, of the town of Addison, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at the Pavilion at Glacier Valley in Slinger at the age of 74. She was born April 2, 1941, in Hartford to the late Walter and Louise (nee Kreuser) Held.

On May 26, 1962, she was united in marriage to Eugene N. Steger in Neosho. Eugene predeceased July 18, 1988.
Joann and Eugene ran the Steger family farm, where she lived for the remainder of her life.

She believed in the power of angels, and was an avid collector of many different types of angels. She also loved spending time with her family and friends, especially during the holidays.

Her strong-willed personality helped her to courageously fight cancer. She also appreciated the many prayers said in her name.

Survivors include six sons, Peter (Sandra) of Oakfield, Allen (Patty) of Fond du Lac, Gene of Kewaskum, Ralph of the town of Addison, Walter (Nancy) of West Bend and Kevin of Kewaskum; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 10 brothers and sisters, Walter (Joanie) Held, Carol Whipple, Arlene Brown, Mary (Brian) Hagen, Shirley (Wayne) Wellhoeffer, Jerry (Bonnie) Held, Ken Held, Joe Held, Donna (Everett) Strehmel and Sharon (Dave) Dragel; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Schlagenhaft and Viola Steger; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

At the family’s request, private burial services will be held.

In honor of her love of animals, those who wish may send memorials to the Washington County Humane Society.
