Willard “Willie” Geiger, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015.
He was born in the town of Jackson in 1920, and was married to his beautiful bride Ramona, “Mona,” for 68 years. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1938 and took over running the family farm near Kirchhayn upon the death of his father when Willie was age 19. During the 1960s, Willie and Mona started Geiger Insurance Agency in their home. Later they moved it to the former bank building on Main Street in Germantown. Will was an avid Land O’ Lakes baseball player and was instrumental in starting the Germantown Little League. He was a past Germantown Rotary Man of the Year, and played golf for many years in the Reuter Monday Night Golf League.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona, and his children, Dan (Marge) Geiger of Summerlin, Nevada, Gail (Glen) Kaebisch of Jackson, Jean (Ron) Pritchard of Germantown, Sherry (Ken) Jaeck of Jackson, Julie (Tom) Woltersdorf of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Gary (June) Geiger of Mequon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie Wiechman and Theodore Geiger; his sister, Pearl Wiechman; and brother, Rollie Geiger. He leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Our sincere thanks to the many kind caregivers at Ivy Manor and Seasons Hospice. There will be no memorial service. Dad will be buried at St. John’s Cemetery in the town of Jackson at a later date with Mom at his side, as always.
