Dorothy M. Ritger (nee Schweitzer) of West Bend, formerly of the town of Addison, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 94. She was born Feb. 18, 1921, in Addison to the late Peter and Rose (nee Gass) Schweitzer.
On May 24, 1944, she was united in marriage to Alois J. Ritger at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Alois predeceased March 10, 1993. Survivors include six children, Joseph (Roseann) of Allenton, Mary Knoeck of Kewaskum, Rose (Bill) Mallek of Allenton, Michael (Evelyn) of Allenton, Rita Moser of Horicon and Geralyn (Jim) Michalowski of Slinger; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucy Wolf of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Sternat of Allenton and Ruth Schweitzer of St. Anthony; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons-inlaw, Robert Knoeck and George Moser, and three brothers, Joseph, Clem and Leo Schweitzer.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with the Rev. Davies Edassery presiding. Private burial was in St. Anthony Cemetery. The family greeted relatives and friends at the church during a period of visitation from 10-11:15 a.m. Nov. 17.
