Leroy was born in West Bend on Nov. 7, 1930, to Ada and Ogle Averill. In 1948, Leroy graduated from West Bend High School. He served in the Army from 1948-49. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a past-president of Foxwood Lake Estates.

Averill, and their seven “R’s”: Russ (Jane) Averill, Randy (Judy) Averill, Roger (Connie) Averill, Rick (Carol) Averill, Roy (Carolyn) Averill, a most-loved daughter Renee and Reid (Maria) Averill. They have 16 grandchildren, Pat (Lindsey), Ryan, Abby (Bernie), Amanda (Nathan), Andrew, Major Bowe (Carla), Megan (Ken), Sara, Cassie, Nicole (Nick), Amber (Andrew), Ethan, Alexa (Joe), Tyler, Tessa and Travis.
