Robert K. Opper, 68 The most beautiful voice we’ve ever known is now singing in heaven. Robert K. Opper, 68, Wayside, passed away Dec. 20, 2015, at his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born July 5, 1947 to the late Harold and Myrtle (Adrian) Opper in West Bend. Robert graduated from Reedsville High school with the Class of 1965. He served in Vietnam with the Army from 1966-69. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2113 in De Pere. Robert married Dianne E. Kiekhaefer on Dec. 27, 1969 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside Robert drove school busses for Brandt & Sonnabend busses. He retired from Ariens Co. of Brillion in September 2013 after 42 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne, of 46 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Diana (Nelson) Opper, Wayside, Christopher and Tracy Yttri Opper, Fish Creek; four grandchildren: Kayla Opper, Ames, Iowa, Adam Kuester, Green Bay, Robert (Bobby) Opper, Fish Creek, and Noah Nelson, Wayside; five great-grandchildren: twin girls, LaKenna and Mercedez Griffey, Trafalgar, Indiana, Jydn and Riley Opper, Wayside, Alea Opper/Howd, Ames, Iowa; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron and Bev Kiekhaefer, Greenleaf, Carol and Gary Matuszak, De Pere; nieces and nephews Russ and Jane Kiekhaefer, Sue and Al Kulich, Kay and Leo Peck, Kathryn Kiekhaefer, James Matuszak, Julie Goralski and Sherri Matuszak.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Myrtle Opper; father-in-law and mother-in-law Armin and Elsie Kiekhaefer; and one niece Nancy Kiekhaefer.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, 8378 Highway W, Wayside, until the time of service. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Austen Welter officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded.

Nickel Funeral Home, Morrison, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Wayside Zion Lutheran Church.
