Raymond G. Nielsen, 93

Raymond George Nielsen of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon at the age of 93 years.
Ray was born in Chicago on May 20, 1922, to George and Emma (nee Gerulich) Nielsen and married Marcella (nee Romens) on Nov. 23, 1954, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Palmyra.
Ray was a Army Air Corp veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Peter Wollner Post #288 in Cedarburg, longtime member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and loved to fish off the Port Washington pier.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella, of Cedarburg; children, Terry (Neil) Dishman of Talala, Okla., Dennis (Debbie) Nielsen of Grafton, Mary (David) Golab of Brookfield, the late Daniel “Red” Nielsen and Don (Kris) Nielsen of Marshfield; sisters, Joyce Turnbul of Hayward, Marlene (David) Aanerude of Champlin, Minn., and Janet (Louis) Lindholm of Hayward. He is further survived by grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, Jan. 2, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Memorials of your choice are appreciated.
