Adeline S. Zimmerman (nee Schmitz), 97, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Serenity Villa Nursing Home in Slinger.

Adeline was born May 22, 1918, in Cold Spring, Minnesota, to Valentine and Christine (nee Mueller) Schmitz. She was united in marriage to Leander Zimmerman at St. James Church in Jacobs Prairie.

Adeline was a longtime volunteer at St. Agnes church in Butler for the altar society and at St. Camilla’s church guild. She enjoyed flowerbeds, playing cards, bowling, traveling and spending the summer at Post Lake with family and friends.

She is survived by her loving children, Sue (Rick) Dumproff of Hartford and Dale (Glenda) Zimmerman of Hazelhurst; grandchildren, Glen (Jackie), Mark (Holly), Elly, Hannah (Zach) Belobraydich and Wyatt; and great-grandchildren, Maddie, Melanie, Mitchell and Layne. Adeline is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her parents; her husband in 1977; and her siblings, Alvina, Raymond, Celina, Edward and Martha.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 State St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends from noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Shimon Funeral Home.

Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.

Adeline loved watching children’s events and seeing them go to and from the school across the street from her home, so memorials to St. Kilian Catholic School are greatly appreciated.
