Mary Louise “Marty” Lindsay was born to eternal life on Feb. 7, 2016, at the age of 89. Marty was born in Glencoe, Ill., on June 23, 1926. She attended New Trier High School and graduated from Lawrence College in Appleton, where she was homecoming queen.
Marty was an amazing athlete. She was a member of Ozaukee Country Club and the Mequon Curling Club. She was club champion 13 times and had four hole-inones. Marty started the junior golfers off the first tee for more than 40 years. The annual “Marty Lindsay Shootout” is held annually in her honor.
Marty was a longtime volunteer for the youth vision screening program and a member, deacon and volunteer at Crossroads Presbyterian Church.
Lovingly survived by her sister, Betty Christian, and her six children, Bill Segall (Ellen Kile), Nancy Segall (Erin Ryan), Diane (Bob) Depies, Sue Balduzzi, Barb (Tom) Anderson and Ann (Chris) Cowie. Beloved grandmother to Brad Segall, Laura (Brad) Smith, Nicolas, Michael and Kimberly Balduzzi, Doug, Tim (Sara) and Lindsay Depies, Colten Poellinger and Taylor Anderson. Proud great-grandmother of Isaac Depies. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marden Lindsay; parents, Hamilton and Jessamine Ritter; brother, Bob Ritter; and sister, Nancy “Ricky” Milne. Marty is also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Marty’s family would like to thank Silver Springs of Mequon and Allay Hospice for their incredible care, kindness and love.
Memorial service and celebration of life to be held on Thursday, Feb. 11 at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a service and fellowship to follow.
