Rose Ann “Rosie” Wenninger (nee Kohler), 88, of Hartford, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at the Waterford of Hartford.
She was born May 25, 1927, in Milwaukee to Mathias and Theresa (nee Hoffman) Kohler. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Wenninger on May 27, 1950, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.
Rose Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert Wenninger of Hartford; loving children, Michael (Sandra) Wenninger of Hartford, Cheryl (Wayne) Jossart of Hartford, Thomas (Susan) Wenninger of Watertown, Mary (Donald) Vallone of Sussex and James (Ann) Wenninger of Rubicon; 12 cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancé, Todd Sedberry) Wenninger, Jonathan (Jill) Jossart, Caryn (Tracy) Pawlak, Jacob, Andrew, Steven and Krista Wenninger, Nicholas (Cynthia) Whipple, Michelle Schultz, Joe Vallone, and Dustin and Eric Wenninger; 17 cherished great-grandchildren; and her dear siblings, Mary Fetkenhauer, Elizabeth (Robert) Schaefer, Anne Kay and Walter (Virginia) Kohler. She is further survived by Mandy Vallone, among many other loved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Michael E. (Eleanor, nee Fehring) Wenninger; and her siblings and siblings-in-law, Steve (Sylvia) Kohler, Matthew (Elvira) Kohler, Theresa (Robert) Raasch, Frank Kohler, Dorothy (Wallace) Margelowsky, Helen (Harold) Hackbarth, Kenneth Kay, Tony Kohler, Joan (William) Sturm, William Fetkenhauer, and Armella (Earl) Malchow.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Ann will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 W. State St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the church with visitation to follow.
Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Kilian Catholic Parish are appreciated (428 Forest St., Hartford, WI 53027).
