Dolores Mae O’Brien, 83

Dolores Mae O’Brien, 83, of Hartford, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14,
2016, at the Gardens of Hartford.
She was born July 2, 1932, in a farmhouse in Lost Lake to James and
Grace (nee Unertl) O’Brien.
Dolores was a teacher for many years, teaching at Maple Lawn and Silver
Maple in West Bend and St. Kilian in Hartford. She worked as an
elementary school librarian in Oconomowoc for more than 35 years. She
earned her bachelor’s degree in 1959 and then her master’s degree in
library science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1983.
Dolores loved her faith, family and friends. She enjoyed traveling,
reading, learning new things and working in her garden.
Dolores is survived by her dear siblings, Ken Unertl and Ron (Johana)
O’Brien; sister in-law, Judy O’Brien; and nieces and nephews, Greg, Guy,
Gus, Grant, Gary, Kathy, Karen, Karla, Kim, Keith, Tom, Diane, Vicky,
Doug and Dan. She is further survived by many other loved great- and
great-great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She is
preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom O’Brien; and
sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Audrey Unertl. A Mass of Christian Burial
for Dolores will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at St. Kilian’s
Catholic Church (264 W. State St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev.
David LaPlante officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday at the
Interment will take place at St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford on
Saturday, Feb. 20.
