William H. Sehmer, 1941 –
Bonnie L. (Bleiler) Sehmer 1942 – 2014
In loving memory of our beloved parents: William H. (Bill) Sehmer of Mequon passed away on Leap Year Day, 2016, at age 74. He was the beloved husband of the late Bonnie L.(Bleiler) Sehmer, who passed away Sept. 5, 2014, at age 73. They are survived by their four children and their families: Scott and Anne Sehmer; Steve and Michelle Sehmer and their children, Shane, Ivy and Zoe; Stephanie and Matt McMahon and their children, Owen and Gracie; and Sally Sehmer-Chabot and Gregg Chabot and their children, Lafayette and Wyatt.
Bill and Bonnie met and fell in love while working together at a grocery store on the East Side. They shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Bill will be remembered for his fair business practices, passion for cars and photography.
He captured thousands of memorable moments on film at local parades and Scouting events, and was videographer for the Homestead High School marching band and drama/music departments.
Bonnie was a dedicated public servant as well. She was the founding president of the Junior Woman’s Club of Mequon and a Girl Scout leader for both of her daughters.
She had a gift for making every gathering beautiful and everyone feel included.
Bill and Bonnie were actively involved with AFS.
Together they owned Sehmer Enterprises Inc., an automobile leasing and rental company in Mequon.
Post-retirement, they moved to Pennsylvania near their daughter Stephanie. They were trusted and lifelong friends to many in Mequon and Whitefish Bay. Their exuberance and generosity will be remembered.
A private family memorial will be held in Pennsylvania in July 2016.
Honorary donations would be gladly accepted by Mequon-Thiensville AFS Chapter, 614 Park Crest Drive, Thiensville, WI 53092.
