Junier Marvin Ehlke, 93

Junier Marvin Ehlke was called to eternal rest Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the age of 93. He was born July 9, 1922, and was raised in Jackson.
After his education, he worked on the family farm. He served in World War II in Germany and, soon after, married his sweetheart, Beata Otto, on Nov. 17, 1946, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Jackson. Together they raised four boys while farming. Junier also worked for many years at the Jackson Feed Mill until his retirement.
Junier had many interests, which included riding snowmobiles and amphicats, pheasant hunting, playing cards and woodworking. He especially looked forward to going up to the family cabin in Crivitz to fish.
Junier is survived by four sons, Donald (Jewel) Ehlke, Gerald (Linda) Ehlke, Michael Ehlke and Charles Ehlke; four grandchildren, Tammy Jo (Eric) Fabitz, Jamie (Alexandra) Ehlke, LeAnn Ehlke and Shannon Ehlke; and five great-grandchildren, Emery and Easton Fabitz and Aubrey, Quinlin and Emileo Ehlke. He is also survived by two sisters, Leona Hilgendorf and Hildegard Eickstedt, and many other relatives and friends.
Junier was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Anna Ehlke; his beloved wife, Beata; brothers, Norman, Clarence, Wilmer and Alfred; and sister, Erna Gilbert.
A funeral service for Junier will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Davidís Star Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kirchhayn. Visitation will take place from noon-1:45 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will take place at the church cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
