Marvin Rusch, 80

Marvin Rusch was called to his eternal home Monday, March 14, 2016, in Grafton, at the age of 80.

Marvin, the son of John and Laura (Nee Gilbert) Rusch, was born June 30, 1935, in Jackson. He was a baptized and lifelong member of Davidís Star Evangelical Lutheran Church.

On Aug. 11, 1957, Marvin married Arlene Nickel of Allenton, who was teaching at Davidís Star Lutheran School. After they were married, Marvin took over the family farm. He served the church by holding positions on a variety of boards and committees. After retiring from farming, Marvin enjoyed spending time with Matthew and Connie at Traditional Concrete.

Marvin and Arleneís marriage was blessed with six children. In his later years, Marvin found great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Arlene; children, Carol (Paul) Janke, Keith (Elaine), Kathleen (Jim) Brandt, Connie (Matthew) Enevold, Carrie (Jon) Sanford and Kim (Shannon) Leitzke; sister, Gladys (Richard) Oestrich; and sisters-inlaw, Dorothy Rusch, Marcella Christian and Betty Nickel. He is further survived by 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Marvin was preceded in death by one grandchild, Thomas Sanford, and one brother, Leonard Rusch.

His Christian funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Davidís Star Lutheran Church in Jackson. Interment will take place immediately following the service at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-1:45 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Davidís Star Evangelical Lutheran Church or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School are appreciated.
