Richard D. Carey III, 73
Jan. 13, 1943 — April 1, 2016
Richard D. Carey III, 73, of Eden, went to his heavenly home Friday, April 1, 2016, at his home with his beloved family gathered around him. He was born in West Allis on Jan. 13, 1943, the son of Richard D. and Irene (Kwiatkowski) Carey II. On Jan. 14, 1967, he married Rose Mary Immel at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee where they continued to be members.
Rick worked for the U.S. Department of the Interior in Wyoming prior to his marriage and at Gehl Co. in West Bend for 43 years. In retirement, he drove a school bus for the Johnson Bus Co. Rick enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing, cars and his TV shows, especially NCIS. He was a great Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan and he loved to be out in nature observing God’s wonders. Rick was a “people person” with many friends, and he was always adding new ones.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Rose Mary; his children, Kevin (Shellie) Carey, Kelly (David) Brzezinski, Rick (Lisa) Carey, Kimberly Carey and Keith (Tiffany) Carey; Kevin and Shellie’s children, Kevin Jr., Brenda, Robin, Alex and Zach; Kelly and David’s children, Shawn, Josh, Cory and Tyler; Rick and Lisa’s children, Paige and Trent; Kimberly’s daughter, Sierra; and Keith and Tiffany’s children, Makayla and Connor. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren, Natasha, Nadia and Avery; his brothers, Donald (Kathleen) Carey and David (Evelyn) Carey; his faithful companions, Ratchet, Digger and Ironhide; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Doris; his great-grandchild, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Mabel Immel; and his special pets, Duke and Champ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee. The Rev. Robert Oberg will officiate and entombment will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.
