Alita A. Berling, 95

Alita A. Berling (nee Hartwig), 95, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at The Waterford in Hartford.
Alita was born in the town of Saukville on Oct. 24, 1920, to Albert and Hilda (nee Stoecker) Hartwig. She was united in marriage to Arthur O. Berling on April 5, 1941, in McGregor, Iowa.
Alita was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford. She was also a member of the Ladies Mission Society at Peace Lutheran and a member of the Hartford Doers.
She is survived by her loving children, Gary Berling of Hartford and Barbara (Allen) Rothman; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy (Leland) Shultz of West Bend; a brother, Albert (Agnes) Hartwig of Jackson; and sisters-in-law, Ilma Hartwig of Cedarburg and Ruth Berling of Milwaukee. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Arthur; her daughter-in-law, Karen Berling; a son-in-law, Lyle Polzin; sisters, Viola at infancy, Alma (Gustav) Beimborn, Eleanor (Bob) Merrik, Elfrieda (Gilbert) Benicke and Mildred (Don) Ulik; and her brother, Henry Hartwig.
Funeral services for Alita will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Peace Lutheran Church, (1001 Peace Lutheran Drive, Hartford) with the Rev. Jeremy Husby officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
