Scott was born in Milwaukee on March 15, 1965, the son of the late John and Helen (nee Thompson) Strommen. Scott was the youngest of four children and by the time he was 3 years old, his mom Helen died, but Ruth Strommen came into his life and became his step-mom. Ruth later adopted all four children so she could call them her own.
He was a 1983 graduate of Nathan Hale High School in West Allis. Scott was a skilled sailor, a scuba diver and an accomplished musician, playing his grand piano at home and also for parties and at the Grand Avenue Mall. His piano CD, “Spontaneous,” was bought and loved by people all over the world. He was a software engineer and also a very patient teacher for friends who found computers confusing. Scott remodeled much of his house, mostly on his own, with a little help from his friends. He had a special spot in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews and went out of his way to support them. Scott was just an all around good guy.
Survived by siblings, Linda (David) Johnson, Stephen (Joanne) Strommen and Mary (Don) LaPlant. Scott is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Johanna (Stephen) Meyer, Amanda Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Zander Strommen, Emily LaPlant and Jedidiah LaPlant; and great-niece and nephews, Lucas, Isaac and Emmaline Meyer. Further survived by cousins, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Strommen and Ruth Strommen.
