Tyrone E. Schave, 78
Dec. 18, 1937 — May 23, 2016
E. Schave, 78, of Rhinelander, sailed his best race ever May 23, 2016,
when he came in first and received his heavenly crown. Heaven not only
received a great sailor but a master gardener. He was born Dec. 18,
1937, to Herbert and Mabel (Baumann) in Wausau. He proudly served his
country as a member of the United States Navy for four years in the
103rd Battalion. Tyrone was united in marriage to Carolyn Sonnenburg and
later on Dec. 24, 1986, Tyrone was united in marriage to Sylvia Novak.
Anyone who had the opportunity to know Tyrone could tell you one of the
greatest joy’s in his life was spending time out on the lake sailing. He
also had an amazing “green thumb” and was able to grow just about any
kind of vegetable to enormous sizes. One of Tyrone’s last wishes was for
Sylvia and Tim Klunder to plant a tomato plant in the garden. In his
spare time, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Big Brothers and Big
Sisters, and the Seventh Day Adventist thrift store.
He is survived by his
wife, Sylvia of Rhinelander; two sons, Trent (Annette) Schave of
Roopville, Georgia, and Art (Karla) Meyer of Rochester, Minnesota; a
daughter, Alissa (Steve) Smith of Savannah, Georgia; two grandsons,
Russell Richardson and Matthew Smith; three granddaughters, Sommer
Schave, Elizabeth Smith and Amanda Jacob; two brothers, Herbert Schave
of Tampa, Florida, and Milton (Jeanie) Schave, of Fond du Lac; two
brothersin- law, Duwayne Witter and Phillip Saindon; and nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; six sisters, Betty (Elroy) Tezloff, Nancy Yokimcus,
Alice Crotteau, Dawn Witter, Marie Saindon and Verna Gorski; and a
brother, Gerald (Dawn) Schave.
