Josephine Millward, 91

Josephine Millward (nee Krala), 91, of Jackson, died peacefully Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center. She was born July 11, 1925, in Milwaukee to Michael and Barbara (nee Kostial) Krala. She married Charles T. Millward on Sept. 5, 1959, in Milwaukee. Charles preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1996.

Josephine graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee in 1943. She then proudly worked for the Milwaukee Journal Co. for 15 years.

Jo enjoyed volunteering at the Red Cross, first as an operator, patching calls through between servicemen around the world and their families and then as an office worker. She also enjoyed volunteering for the St. Joseph’s Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Dan) Brawn of Jackson; her two grandsons, Tim and Andy; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Barbara Krala; her husband, Charles Millward; and her siblings, Victoria Cholip, Margaret Austin, Mary Krala, Michael Krala and Emily Vodica.

Private inurnment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
