Kathryn Karlsson, 70
May 8, 1946 — April 5, 2016
Kathryn Karlsson died April 5, 2016. As she put it herself, she is off on a race through the cosmos to discover all the mysteries of the universe.
Kate, as many knew her, was born Kathryn Pauline Carlson in Park Falls on May 8, 1946, to Herbert and Janet Carlson of Ogema.
After raising her children, she put herself through college and then law school. She practiced family law in Milwaukee for several years. Anyone lucky enough to meet Kate was captivated by her smile and fascinated by her sense of style. She was always willing to have a chat with anyone about anything, especially if there was coffee.
She is survived by her two children, Paul (Candace) Anderson and Jennifer (Kevin) Anderson, as well as her four grandchildren, Piera, Henry, Larsen and Francesca, who truly were her favorite things in life. She is also survived by her five siblings, Eugene (Peggy) Carlson, Margaret (Jim) Everson, Mary (John) Carlson, Timothy (Dawn) Carlson and Elizabeth (Dennis) Carlson.
A memorial service will be held at her childhood home in Ogema at 1 p.m. Aug. 20.
