Dorothy Dhein, 94, of Sturgeon Bay, formerly of West Allis, passed away on Sunday evening, Aug. 21, 2016 at Ministry Door County Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in West Bend, the daughter of the late Henry and Amanda (Bock) Dhein. Dorothy received her RN from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated during World War II and joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps as a second lieutenant. After the war she worked for the VA hospitals in Madison and Milwaukee. She moved to Sturgeon Bay in 2009 to be near her brother and his family.
Dorothy enjoyed reading and traveling, and was an avid fan of the Brewers and Packers. She will be greatly missed by her family and the many people whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Annette Dhein of Sturgeon Bay; and nieces and nephews and their families: Charlotte (Bill) Neumann of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Sue (Wayne) Erickson of Oregon, Illinois, Phil (Stacy) Dhein of West Bend, Cindy (Jack) Follick of Sturgeon Bay, Steve (Debbie) Dhein of Green Bay, and Edie (Greg) Chmielewski of West Bend. She was predeceased by her parents, and her brother Henry and his wife, June.
