Janet L. Checolinski (nee Schuster), 80 of Hartford passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.

She was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Theresa to Willard and Mathilda (nee Koenig) Schuster. She was united in marriage to Robert Checolinski on Nov. 2, 1957, at St. Kilianís Catholic Church Parsonage in Hartford.

Janet worked at Broan-NuTone in Hartford for 30 years. She enjoyed camping, crafts and spending time with family. She was a proud member of the Optimist Club. Janetís passion was serving her community, as she volunteered for Operation Christmas Child (shoe box) and Support the Troops where she made recycled cards for the children and troops. She also volunteered at the Schauer Performing Arts Center and the Hartford Hospital.

Janet is survived by her loving children, Keith (Debra), Karen (Clyde) Braunschweig, James (Barbara) Kathleen (Gregory) Klink, Patricia Backhaus, John (Denise) and Brian; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Edna, Marian, Barbara and Emily Schuster. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1997; and brothers, Rueben, Carl, Howard, Alan, Kenneth and Glen.

Funeral services for Janet will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. Jeff Schimp officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at Shimon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
Interment will be in St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Glacier Hills Church, Operation Shoe Box and Support the Troops are appreciated.
