John “Jack” J. Bodden, 71, of Tomah, died Sept. 27, 2016, at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse.

Jack was born March 2, 1945, to John and Evelyn (Krieser) Bodden, in Fond du Lac. He was injured twice in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. While residing at the Tomah VA, Jack enjoyed bowling.

Jack is survived by six siblings, Russell (Betty) Bodden, Dennis (Mary Jo) Bodden, Peggy (Dennis) Proeber, Curt (Patty) Bodden, Todd (Mary Alice) Bodden and Tony (Karen) Bodden. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Evelyn, and his dog, Andy.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jack’s guardian and “stepmom,” Barbara, and the entire staff at the Tomah VA for the care given to Jack over the past several years.
