Dorothy I. Demmon-Schultz

Dorothy I. Demmon-Schultz (nee Hartwig), 93, of West Bend, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2016. She was born Jan. 7, 1923, to Albert and Hilda (nee Stoecker) Hartwig and was raised on a farm in Saukville.

Dorothy was married to Clifford E. Demmer on Jan. 24, 1942, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Newburg. Clifford passed away June 6, 1987. She later married Leland W. Schultz on Jan. 6, 1990.

Dorothy did a lot of gardening and crocheting. She enjoyed drawing pictures and traveling. She was a woman of strong faith, who loved her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Leland; children, James (Karen) Demmon, Roger (Kathie) Demmon and Warren (Mary) Demmon; her brother, Albert (Agnes) Hartwig; and her sister-in-law, Ilma Hartwig. She is further survived by her eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clifford Demmon; and her siblings, Alma Beimborn, Eleanor Weckwerth, Henry Hartwig, Elfreida Benicke, Viola Hartwig in infancy, Alita Berling and Mildred Ulik.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. The family will greet relatives and friends from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Arthritis Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are appreciated.
