Harriet B. Thompson

Harriet B. Thompson (nee Kempfer), 84, of Theresa, found eternal peace Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at St. Anneís Salvatorian Campus in Milwaukee.

Harriet was born Aug. 10, 1932, to William and Harriet (nee Garretsen) Kempfer. She was united in marriage to Arthur M. Thompson on Oct. 2, 1948, at St. Paulís Episcopal Church in Ashippun. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 2, 1998, and then enjoyed 17 more years of marriage. Art and Harriet were farmers in Hartford until 1969 when they purchased Artyís Place in Theresa. After retiring, Harriet found joy in camping at Blue Top with her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and every moment spent with them. She especially loved catching her grandchildrenís hands in the cookie jar!

She is survived by her dear children, Rosanne (Kenneth) Kirchner, Arthur Mark Jr. (Donna) Thompson, Christine (Bud) Zimmel, April Thompson (wife of Ned), Timothy Thompson, Katheryn (Tom) Junger and Gerald Thompson (Jennifer Schultz), and cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

Harriet is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Arthur; parents; parents-in-law, Edward and Evelyn (nee Thompson) Thompson; son, Ned Thompson; and many beloved brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Harriet will be held at noon Monday, Nov. 14, at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. Thomas Holtzen officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Ashippun.
