Kenneth F. Unertl, 86 Kenneth F. Unertl, 86, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at The Kathy Hospice of West Bend. He was born to Grace Unertl on Aug. 19, 1930, in Milwaukee. He was the much loved grandson of Karl and Grace Unertl who called him Unsa Kenny.

Ken was a member of St. Lawrence Parish since 1957, where he served as a lector for many years, was a former Parish Council president and was actively involved in the church. He worked as a union carpenter for many years, but his greatest joy was seeing all of his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids do well. He was very proud of them.

He was a member of Milwaukee Carpenters Local 2283 and the Marine Corps League. Ken was incredibly proud of his service to our country as a U.S. Marine, finishing his service as a staff sergeant.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Unertl, Greg Unertl, Karen Gleason, Guy (Annette) Unertl, Grant Unertl, Karla (Bob) Thurow, Gus (Bonnie) Unertl, Gary (Janice) Unertl and Kim (Tim) Coffman; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, with two more expected soon. He is also survived by the adult children of his second and third wives: Carl Mueller, Ed Mueller and Ellen Seronti (nee Mueller), and Pam Serafin and Susan (Joe) Reinicke and their mother. He is further survived by his brother, Ron (Johanna) O’Brien, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ken is preceded in death by his wife and first love, Dorothy (nee Krebs); his wife, Audrey (nee Mueller); his brother, Tom (Judy) O’Brien; and sister, Dolores O’Brien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (4886 Highway 175, Hartford) with the Rev. Davies Edassery and the Rev. Richard Stoffel presiding. The visitation will be held at the church immediately prior to the funeral starting at 4 p.m. His final place of rest will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
