Roman A. Stoffel Jr., 81 Roman A. Stoffel Jr., 81, of West Bend, died Dec. 17, 2016 at The Waterford at West Bend. He was born May 14, 1935, in Allenton to Roman and Marie (nee Mechenich) Stoffel. Roman graduated from West Bend High School with the class of 1953.

On May 7, 1960, he was united in marriage to Shirley M. Emmer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Allenton. They shared 56 blessed years together.

Roman worked 44 years at West Bend Savings Bank, retiring in 1997. A man of devout faith, he was active in parish activities at Holy Angels Catholic Church, most notably the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed time spent with family, traveling, dancing to polka music, playing sheepshead and working on puzzles.

Roman is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of West Bend; their four children, Diane (Lindsay) Steele of Kennewick, Washington, Helen (Mike) Williams of Helena, Montana, Rose (Scott) Densow of West Bend, and Joan (Rick) Ward of Menomonee Falls; and eight grandchildren, Caitryn and Maxwell Steele, Reyla and Lauren Williams, Haley and Tyler Densow, Abigail and Lucas Ward. He is further survived by sister, LaVerne (Bill) Horst of Rubicon; brothers, Robert Stoffel of Slinger and Mathias (Theresa) Stoffel of West Bend; sister-in-law, Donna Stoffel of Cedarburg; and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Marie Stoffel; his brother, Ralph; and infant grandson, Callum Steele.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. Eighth Ave., West Bend). The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation from 3-4:45 p.m. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will be at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Angels Parish are appreciated.
