Patricia Galante, 90
Dec. 11, 1926 — Jan. 22, 2017

Patricia Galante, 90 Patricia Ann Galante (nee Roherty) passed into our Lord’s hands Jan. 22, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. A true and proud Irish Lass, Pat’s love, kindness, wit, sass and resiliency are the qualities for which friends and family will always remember her.

Pat was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Janesville to John and Ruth (nee Blakely) Roherty. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1944. Pat helped with the family grocery store in Elkhorn, and then moved to Madison and graduated from the School of Cosmetology. She met Tony and they were married Aug. 22, 1953. They then moved to Milwaukee and started their family.

If you ever asked Pat what her greatest accomplishment in life was, she would tell you it was her family. Pat loved her family, and worked hard to make sure her love of life and faith was a part of her children’s lives. She was a true mentor of family and values. She wasn’t afraid to give you her “two cents.” To us, those two cents are worth more than any amount of money. We will miss her laugh, hugs and practical jokes. We know Mom is finally able to dance again with Dad.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Jodi) Galante, Timothy (Mary) Galante, James (Sherry) Galante and Jennifer (Ted) Casper; 15 grandchildren, Abbie, Emilie, Melissa (Sousuke), Samantha (Steve), Joseph (Lisa), Kaitlyn (Shaun), Meredith, Anthony, Nicholas, Andrew, Thomas, Sara (Josh), Maxwell, Guinevere and Miriam; and six great-grandchildren, Sophia, Annabelle, Amelia, Gabriel, Louis and Aiden. She is also preceded by her sister, Mary Fischer; brother-in-law, Manny (Jan) Galante; sister-in-law, Nancy (Bill) May; sister-in-law, Joan Galante; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Anthony Galante; father, John Roherty; mother, Ruth Wiedenhoeft; brother, John Roherty Jr.; brother-in-law, Ray Fischer; sister-in-law, Mary Josephine Malsack; brother-in-law, John Malsack; brother-in-law, Fredrick Galante; brother-in-law, Louis Galante; and sister-in-law, Gloria Roherty.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Holy Angels Parish (138 N. Eighth Ave., West Bend, WI). Visitation will be at the church from 2:30-5:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Cedar Ridge Hospice or Cedar Community are appreciated. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Cedar Ridge Hospice and Cedar Bay East Senior Living for their kindness and compassion.

The Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend is serving the family. Online guestbook and condolences are available at www.schmidtfuneralhome.com.
