Clara PikeClara Marie Wiedmeyer-Pike, 98, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Washington County, passed away peacefully at her home Jan. 27, 2017.

Clara was born March 3, 1918, near St. Lawrence, the daughter of Herman and Laura Schnorenberg. She spent most of her teen years helping her parents on their dairy farm. At the age of 18 she moved to Hartford and worked in a shoe factory for about two years.

She married Raymond F. Wiedmeyer on June 10, 1938, a union that lasted

33 years until his sudden death in 1971. During their years together they owned and operated a 128-acre dairy farm and over the last five years they worked for Mallard Coach Industries. In 1981, she moved to Columbia, Missouri, to be closer to her sonís family and grandchildren.

In 1987, she married Leslie Francis Pike and they traveled and remained together until his death in 2010.

She was a great gardener and spent countless hours tending to her flower gardens. She was also an avid volksmarcher, walked the 10K route in all 50 States and Puerto Rico, Canada and Italy. She is survived by her son, Raymond H. Wiedmeyer (Hsiao Mei); daughters, Cheryl Fortuna (Sixto) and Rachell Henni (Louis); eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Columbia, Missouri. Burial will be Feb. 3 in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Nenno (town of Addison).
