Oct. 7, 1929 — Feb. 6, 2017
Marvin W. Kissinger, 87, of Jackson passed away peacefully Feb. 6, 2017, at Serenity Villa in Slinger.
Born Oct. 7, 1929, in Jackson, the only son to Harry and Anita (nee Gronemeyer) Kissinger in Jackson where he lived his whole life on the family homestead, actively farming and caring for the land left to him.
It was the place he loved to be— he was always involved and his ideas will be with us forever. He was very creative designing and remodeling his home and buildings, even up to the end of his time, he always had an idea how to make things better. He enjoyed fixing, repairing and building many pieces of equipment for himself and many neighbors over the years.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; children, Lee (Caren) Kissinger and Kay (Nick) Laatch; grandchildren, Daniel (Megan) Kissinger, Kevin (Angie) Kissinger, Karissa, Dustin and Lanae Laatch; and great-grandson, Owen Kissinger. Marvin is further survived by brother and sister-in-law, Don and Audrey Richter and Ron and Judy Felsing, and other nieces nephews, family and friends! Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Anita Kissinger; his parents-in-law, William and Elsie Thornsberry; and cousin, Dorothy (Lloyd) Bruggemann, who was like a sister to him and helped care for him as a child when his mother could not.
Special thanks to the staff of Serenity Villa and Horizon Hospice Care for their loving care and attention for Marvin.
Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 13, from 5:30 p.m. with a memorial service to be held at 6:30 p.m. at Living Word Lutheran Church (2240 Living Word Lane, Jackson, WI 53037).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Living Word Lutheran Church.
