William L. Schreiber Sr., "Bill," 91, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.
He was born May 12, 1925, in Milwaukee. He attended Boys Tech and served in the Army during World War II. He married Margaret (nee Hendricks) on July 30, 1949. He worked at A.O. Smith as a welder for 40 years.
Bill was fortunate to take the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight at age 88.
He was a fantastic cook and enjoyed taking walks with his dog. He loved spending time with his wife and family, especially the grandkids.
He is survived by his children, Bill Jr. (Dianne), Mike (Loralie), Doreen Moore and Lynn (Brian) Barker; grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Stibb, Benjamin (Allison), Sara (DJ) Scullin, Thomas (Holly), Griffin Barker, Carrie Schreiber, Caitlyn and Lauren Barker, and Samuel and Emily; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; sister, Margaret Fulmer; and brother, John Schreiber. He’s further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 66 years, Margaret; and sister Dorothy Luciani. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend) with the Rev. Jerry Repenshek presiding. The visitation will be held Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Final resting place will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
