Mark E. Scholz, 67|
Sept. 5, 1949 — Feb. 19, 2017
Mark E. Scholz, 67, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017. He was born Sept. 5, 1949, in Indianapolis to Allan and Bernice (nee Lueders) Scholz. He moved to Valdosta, Georgia; Dover, Delaware; and finally to Jackson with his military family. Mark attended West Bend High School and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He was the owner of Scholz Mobil and then FM Marketing until his retirement.
Mark is survived by his devoted and loving mother, Bernice; siblings, Allan, Vivian (Daniel) Knepel, Glenn, Janet (Mike) Zehren and Donna (Steve) Schmitt; and nieces and nephews, Kevin Knepel, Amber McDonald, Jeremy Scholz, Sarah (Kyle) Scholz Higgins, Justin (Megan) Schmitt and Dexter Zehren. He is further survived by many other relatives and dear friends. Mark is preceded in death by his father, Allan; grandparents, Herbert and Luella Lueders, and Victor and Rosalie Draeger; and his best friend and beloved dog, Jack.
Mark’s passion was to enjoy life and have fun. He loved guiding duck and pheasant hunts, coaching West Bend Thunder baseball teams, diving in the Cayman Islands, riding his Harley, waterskiing, playing softball, and throwing one back every once in a while. Mark was generous with volunteering his time. He was a Big Brother, Santa for needy families at Christmas, driver for Meals on Wheels, member of the Jackson and Slinger fire departments, and a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, just to name a few.
We are comforted to know that Mark crossed the Rainbow Bridge, lived life to the fullest and never stopped playing.
