Eugene "Geno" G. Dricken, 78, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital.
Geno was born June 16, 1938, to Lawrence and Olive (nee Ritger) Dricken in the town of Barton and raised in West Bend. He married Kathryn (nee Melhorn) on May 27, 1990, in Jackson and was employed at Gehl Co. and later Maysteel until his retirement. After retirement, he also worked part time at Pick ‘n Save North. Geno enjoyed fishing at his favorite spot, "Thunder Bay" in Phelps, gardening, and cooking his favorite things such as chicken dumpling soup, cheesecake, potato salad and stuffing. He also made many flavors of wine that he would pick his own cherries for in Door County. Geno watched every televised Milwaukee Brewers game, along with attending spring training in Arizona. Many things that he enjoyed were going to the movies with Kathy, playing cards (especially Sequence with friends), coupon clipping, watching the weather and gas prices rise, riding his Harley motorcycle, snow plowing with his 8N tractor, turtle hunting up north, cutting and splitting wood for campfires, and making animal sounds at the campfires. But most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren participate in sports. Member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1964.
Geno is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Kathy"; daughters, Wendy (Kirk) Herriges and Ginger (Kenneth Jr.) Laufer; and stepsons, Kevin (Kris) Laufer and Kirk (Amy) Laufer. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Brett, Kayla and Dylan Laufer, Zachary and Amber Herriges, Jack, Annika and Sarah Laufer, and Brooke Goodland; brother, Roy (Judy) Dricken; sister-in-law, Nancy (Donald) Huybers; nephews, Daniel Dricken, Tim Huybers and Dan (Katie) Huybers; great-nephew, Ben Huybers; and many, many close family and friends.
