Lois Mae Adela Elva Berger 

Lois Mae Adela Elva Berger (nee Lepien), 82, of Hartford, passed away with her loving family by her side Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at the Gardens of Hartford.

She was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Hartford to Harold and Edna F. (nee Druecke) Lepien. She was united in marriage to Gerald R. Berger on May 8, 1954, in Hartford. Together they were longtime members of Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford. Lois worked in the insurance office at the Hartford Aurora Clinic for more than 20 years. She lived at the Gardens of Hartford for five years, where she made many friends and liked to make bracelets. She also enjoyed dancing at Zivko’s in Hartford and going on bus tours to Branson, Missouri, and Nashville, Tennessee. Lois also enjoyed collecting bells. Most of all she loved her family and her face always lit up whenever her grandchildren were around. She always had a fun project and a sweet treat for them.

Lois is survived by her loving children, Cindy (Ron) Deming of Jackson and Brett (Angela) Berger of Hartford; sweet grandchildren, Alexandria, Courtney and Jared Deming, and Sydney, Savannah and London Berger; and dear brothers-in-law, Earl Moldenhauer of Iron Ridge and James (Judy) Berger of Neosho. She is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Robert and Esther (nee Heintz) Berger; beloved husband of 57 years, Jerry; dear sisters, Marcy Moldenhauer and Carlene Koelsch; dear sister-in-law, Juanita Baetz; and cherished grandson, Nicholas Deming.

A memorial service for Lois will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Shimon Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Husby officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Peace Lutheran Church (1001 Center St., Hartford, WI 53027) or to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
