James ‘Jim’ Nelson,
Jan. 12, 1930 — Feb. 8, 2017
James "Jim" Sherwood Nelson died peacefully in Cedarburg Feb. 8, 2017, at the age of 87, with his wife at his side.
James was born to parents Sherwood and Florence Nelson Jan. 12, 1930, in Milwaukee. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Beverly Priefer. He served in the Air Force for several years and then went into sales. He started his own company, James S. Nelson and Associates, which now is run by his sons and grandsons. He was an avid downhill skier and golfer.
James is survived by his sisters, Mary and Shirley, both of whom live in California. He is survived by his children: James (Marnie) Nelson Jr., Jane Smith and Jon (Sharon) Nelson. He is survived by seven
grandchildren: Jason (Shannon) Nelson, Michael (Angie) Nelson, Kyle (Kristin) Smith, Chad (Amber) Smith, Cassie (Andrew) Klopp, Rebecca
(Bradley) Buchholtz and Josh (Mariah) Nelson. He is further survived by nine great-grandchildren: Nathan and Jacob Nelson, Korrigan and Kalon Smith, Richard Smith, Cameron and Everett Klopp and Brandon and Emily Buchholtz.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty and one son, Randall Nelson, who passed away in infancy.
A private family funeral is scheduled for March 3, 2017, at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
