Karen A. Kirst, 70Karen A. Kirst, 70, of Kewaskum, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Karen was born Aug. 3, 1946, in Port Washington, the daughter of the late Theodore and Loretta (Woltring) Thelen. On March 2, 1990, she was united in marriage to Wayne Kirst at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum.

Karen spent a lot of time with friends and family. She enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and up north sitting by the fire, loved playing cards/games and gardening. Karen enjoyed doing puzzles and reading. She enjoyed riding in Big Red and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Those Karen leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Wayne; three children, Tony Rodenkirch of Fox Lake, John Rodenkirch of Beaver Dam, and Sarah Rodenkirch of Mayville; three stepchildren, Todd Kirst (Stacy Malnory), Tim (Shelly) Kirst and Tami (Steve) Staehler, all of Kewaskum; 14 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Marlene Jackson, Nancy (Lowell) Jenz and Mary (Willie) Weyker; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Thelen, Sharon Thelen and Diane (Pete) Paitrick; a brother-in-law, Gary (Diana) Kirst; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Ronald and Michael Thelen; a sister, Diane (Gerald) Lecher; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Jackson and Vince Conroy.

A funeral service for Karen will be held at noon Saturday, March 4, at Peace United Church of Christ (343 First St., Kewaskum) with The Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiating.

Karenís family will greet relatives and friends Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials to Peace United Church of Christ are appreciated.
