Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Grace Lutheran Church (715 Sixth Ave.) in Grafton, for Wendell D. Smith, who died peacefully on April 10, 2017, at the age of 81 years at The Cottages at Cedar Run in West Bend.
An Eastern Star service will be held prior to the service on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the church. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. A burial will take place following the service at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.

Wendell was born on Aug. 26, 1935, in Pierce, the son of the late Victor Sr. and the late Hannah (nee Jabs) Smith. He was united in marriage to the late Joan Braunschweig on April 12, 1958, and they were blessed with two daughters. Wendell was a Master Mason for over 50 years. He was raised at Henry L. Palmer Lodge #301, Wauwatosa, and was a dual member at Ozaukee Lodge #17, Port Washington. Wendell was also a 32nd Degree Mason at the Scottish Rite, Valley of Milwaukee and a Noble at Tripoli Shrine, Milwaukee. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. He belonged to Golden Rule Chapter OES #194, Wauwatosa, where he was a past patron and was a dual member of Ozaukee Chapter #147, Port Washington. Wendell was a former Grand Representative to Bolivia.
Wendell is survived by his daughter, Laurie (Jon) Ziegler of Fredonia; granddaughter, Alyssa Sass of New Bedford, Mass.; brother, Victor Jr., sister-in-law, Bertha Mae; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Wendell is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Joan (nee Braunschweig); daughter, Susan Smith; and siblings, Caroline, Beatrice, Roland, Arlene and Vernon.
