Kurt E. Gustafson,
Aug. 25, 1942 — April 22, 2017
It is with sadness that we announce that Kurt E. (Skip) Gustafson has been called home to the Lord on April 22, 2017. He was born on Aug. 25, 1942, to Laura E. (nee Grafton) and Walter K. Gustafson.
Skip is survived by his wife, Jeanne, and their two children, Kurt (wife Michelle) and Karen; their grandchildren, Jessica, Sara, Erin, Ethan, Austin and Riley; great-grandchildren, Owen and Leon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Jamie.
Skip served in the USAF as a medic (independent duty technician) for 8 1/2 years. He served a year in Vietnam as well as several Air Force Bases in the United States. He worked for General Electric, Westinghouse Electric, Eastern Electric and Brady Corp. (from which he retired).
He was a member of HOG Chapter 1820, West Bend, where he was the safety officer for many years, ABATE Region 1-H of Wisconsin where he taught Share the Road classes at West Bend High School. He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in West Bend where he operated the sound desk and assisted in reading the Scripture lessons.
Skip loved riding his motorcycle with his many friends. He also liked to fish and do woodworking.
A celebration service of victory for Skip will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (6869 Wildwood Road, West Bend) with the Rev. Darren Knoll officiating. The visitation will be held Friday, April 28, at church from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Burial will take place at Washington County Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29.
