Thomas A. Koch, age 81, of Hartford, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born July 29, 1935, in Milwaukee to George R. and Martha (nee Ganz) Koch. Thomas worked at Colart Printing where he met Laura M. Knuese and was later united in marriage on Jan. 3, 1959, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Thomas served in the United States National Guard and later worked for Briggs and Stratton. He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Thomas enjoyed gardening, camping and especially socializing with family and friends.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Laura Koch; loving children, Karen (Michael) Weigman of Hartford, Therese Ann Ross of West Bend, Andrew (Pamela) Koch of West Bend, John (Joe Bruegl) Koch of Greenfield, and Maria (Harvey) Bartsch of Boulder Junction; 11 cherished grandchildren, Valerie (John), Melissa, Charles, Michelle (Eric), Nicholas, Amanda, Tyler, Jessyca, Ryan, Samantha, and Rebecca (Nathan);
4 cherished great-grandchildren, Caden, Kelsey, Oliver, and Madisyn; dear sister, Dorothy and dear brother-in-law, Raymond (Shirley) Knuese. He is further survived by Elizabeth "Liz" Schultz and family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Daniel (Irene) Knuese; and his daughter, Nancy Koch.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 W. State St., Hartford) with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10-11:30 a.m.
Private inurnment in St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery, Hartford.
