Jack Green, age 68, of Slinger, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was born on Nov. 15, 1948, to parents Robert and Betty (VanKoughnet) Green in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He graduated from Argentine High School in Kansas City, Kansas, and went on to join the Navy and became a SeaBee in the Vietnam War. His first marriage was to Terri Wagner with whom he had three children. His second marriage was to Linda Arndt. He retired from John Deere.
Jack had a love for animals, especially dogs and birds. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days and watching it as well as football. He liked talking about the games with his son, brother and sister. He always helped people in need and was the most generous person many people knew.
Jack is survived by his wife, Linda Green and his three children from his first marriage; son, Shawn Green; daughters, Kelly Green and Katie (Mike) Waln. Jack is also survived by two brothers, Bob (Jeanie) Green and David (Linda) Green; one sister, Brenda Clark; two granddaughters and three grandsons. Jack was preceded in death by, his parents, and his first wife, Terri Green.
A Memorial Service for Jack will be held at Northbrook Church, 4014 Highway 167, Richfield on Saturday, June 3 at 2 p.m. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from noon until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Northbrook Church, The Parkinsonís Foundation, The American Legion or an animal shelter would be greatly appreciated. Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.
