Theodora B. Bauman, 86
April 29, 1931 — June 6, 2017

Theodora “Teddy” B. Bauman, 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Serenity Villa in Slinger.

She was born on April 29, 1931 to Theodore and Bernice Brenneis in College Point, New York. She married her high school sweetheart, Frank, on June 10, 1951. She earned an associate’s degree in early childhood education. After living and working in several communities in New Jersey, Frank and Teddy moved to Wisconsin in 1978. While living in Hartford and West Bend, Teddy worked as an aide to disabled children at Lincoln Elementary School in Hartford. She loved working with these children and the teacher in the classroom, Mark Konrath. She spent her days there until her retirement at age 70.

Teddy had many hobbies. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, bird watching and traveling. She and Frank — along with their good friends, the Beskes — traveled to many different countries. They journeyed to England, Scotland, Ireland, Greece and Italy. She and Frank also took many vacations to Mexico to enjoy the sun and the sand. A yearly summer vacation, while living in New Jersey, was to the shore town of Avalon. Teddy, Frank and the boys would spend days at the beach.

Of all her hobbies, her most cherished was quilt-making. Teddy would spend hours cutting, pinning and then carefully stitching together all the pieces. By her last count, she had made more than 30 quilts, table runners, lap blankets, and wall hangings.

Teddy is survived by her husband, Frank; children, David, Stephen (Debra), Mark, Daniel (Connie), and Jonathan (Julie); grandchildren, Zachary (Natasha), Nathan, Matthew, Nick, Colin, Hannah, Claire, and Nicole; and great-grandchild, Layla. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Teddy is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jean; her daughter-in-law, Christine; and her grandchild, Alayna.
