Daniel R. Butzlaff, 35
April 24, 1982 — July 11, 2017
Daniel R. Butzlaff, 35, of West Bend, found peace Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
Dan was born April 24, 1982, to Randy and Sally (nee Robbins) Butzlaff in West Bend, and was baptized into the Christian faith. He graduated from West Bend West High School in 2000. Dan traveled to many places, enjoying all the experiences he encountered, making new friends and touching many lives. He enjoyed playing and listening to music of any genre. He most recently enjoyed the comeback of vinyl and found himself rebuying music he enjoyed earlier in life. The true love Dan found in life was through his dog, Barton, known as “Barb.” Dan had a very strong work ethic, performing many duties in many occupations, most recently working for Unique Services. Dan was a very generous, thoughtful, genuinely kind man. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Dan will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and had a special connection to his Aunt Lynn and Cousin Nick. Dan found a special place in his heart for Macy and Carson and they loved every minute they spent with him. His brother Ben will look back on 35 fulfilling years of comradery, and smile.
Those Dan leaves behind to cherish his memory include his mother, Sally; his father, Randy (Mary Kleppin); his grandmother, Karen; his brother, Ben (Candice); two nieces, Macy and Aspen; two nephews, Carson and Gray; aunts, Lynn (Jeff) and Laurie (Jason); uncles, Tim and Bruce (Jill); cousins, Nick, Joe, and Jacob; a steadfast friend, Jim Scherer; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lloyd; his maternal grandparents, Russell and Elizabeth; and an aunt, Amy.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer funeral home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.
The family will greet relatives and friends Saturday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Dan’s arrangements. Additional information and guestbook may be found at www.myrhum-patten.com.
