Gerald ‘Jerry’ Edward Gall,
April 17, 1935 — July 5, 2017
Gerald “Jerry” Edward Gall, age 82, of West Bend, entered into eternal life on July 5, 2017. He was born in Port Washington on April 17, 1935, to Erwin and Clara (nee Stieg) Gall. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1953. Jerry was married to Kathleen Leach in 1961. He later united in marriage to Melvina (nee Primasing) on April 15, 1983, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Saukville.
Jerry served in the National Guard for 10 years, achieving the rank of 2nd Lt. He was also a dedicated employee of We Energies, where he worked as Maintenance Mechanic, retiring in 1994 after 41 1/2 years. Jerry was a proud member of the Port Washington City Band for 23 years. His love of music continued throughout his life. He took part in the Ozaukee County Barbershop Chorus for 28 years, directing it for 17 years. He sang four-part harmony in various quartets, performing and competing throughout the Midwest. In addition, he directed the Friedens Church Choir in Port Washington and the Oostburg Presbyterian Church Choir. He also enjoyed traveling and riding his “hog.”
Jerry is survived by his wife Melvina, daughters: Corinne (Anthony) Coffey of Cedarburg, Jill Gall (Don Peterson) of Saukville, Lynn Gall of Monona, step-daughter Joanne (Kenneth) Breitenstein of Cedarburg, grandchildren Matthew, Sara, Andrea (Nicholas), Drew, Alex, Donny, Amy, Evan, Melanie and great-grandchildren Dylan, Lily, Oliver and sister Dorothy Yurske. Further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Carl “Carlie” (Elizabeth “Bethlie”) Gall and Frederick “Fritz” (Marlene) Gall, sisters: Marjorie (Charles) Spear and Betty (Julius) Bendt, and brother-in-law Gorman “Babe” Yurske.
A Memorial Service for Jerry will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington (1600 West Grand Ave. Port Washington, Wisconsin 53074). Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Jerry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers who assisted Jerry over the last few years.
