Carla C. Volz of Jackson passed away peacefully, on Aug. 15, 2017, at the age of 74 years, surrounded by her family.
Carla was born in Jackson on Jan. 4, 1943, the daughter of the late Arnold and Elizabeth (nee Amacher) Nicolaus.
Carla and James Volz would grow up across the farms from one another, eventually uniting in marriage on June 24, 1961, before the eyes of God, at St. Johnís in Jackson. They would then be blessed with four daughters.
Carla would work the purchasing department at Scot Pump, leaving on account of her M.S. condition.
In her active life, Carla enjoyed singing in the choir, bowling, fishing, camping, shooting pool and decorating cakes.
Carla especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, often missing them when they werenít around.
Carla is survived by her husband, James; her daughters: Lauri (John) Lettner, Shari Kraft and friend William, Terri (Pastor Tim) Flunker and Carri (David) Foley; grandchildren: Charles, Jedediah, Rebecca, Amelia, Michael, Liza, Big Josh, Katarina, Jake, Little Josh; great-grandchildren: Zooey, Isaak, Ava and Max; and her beloved dog, Spunky. Carla is further survived by her sister Darlene (Huns) Kaul, other family and friends.
There will be a funeral service held this Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Davidís Star Ev. Lutheran Church (2740 Davidís Star Drive, Jackson, WI) at 1 p.m., with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment at Davidís Star Ev. Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials to Davidís Star Ev. Lutheran Church or Lawlis Family Hospice are appreciated.
